Ontario modernizes social assistance program to help more people re-enter the workforce

TORONTO - Government of Ontario unveils plan to deliver a more responsive, effective and people-centered social assistance program that will allow clients to return to the workforce and foster economic recovery as a result of the COVID-19 crisis. As part of the first phase of the social assistance recovery and renewal plan, the province will work to improve access to employment and training services, create new digital tools and options. services and to suggest ways to speed up the processing of financial aid.

The initial phase of the plan will be implemented in the coming months and will include measures that build on improvements already underway to reform the program.
