International Experience Canada (IEC) participants whose letter of introduction (LOI) is about to expire and who are not able to travel may be able to extend their LOI.
These instructions apply to IEC participants in the following categories:
Young Professionals
International Co-op (Internship)
Working Holiday
Non-IEC foreign nationals will have to submit a new application to IRCC if all of the following apply:
they received an LOI for their work permit application
they received the maximum extension applicable to their category
they have yet to enter Canada
their LOI has expired or will expire before they can travel
