Guelph will soon have a doctors’ office with physicians specializing in medical exams required for immigration.
Two immigration medical examiners — Dr. Dorothy Bakker and Dr. Maria Casale — who had previously been serving clients from Guelph and Wellington County out of an office in Kitchener, will open an office on Surrey Street in Guelph on May 3.
This is a long-awaited milestone for staff of Immigrant Services Guelph Wellington, said a news release from the organization, which noted that for refugees, medical exams are typically required within 30 days of arrival in Canada.
