IRCC Updated Terms and definitions related to temporary residents

The terms and definitions related to temporary residents have been updated. Several terms relating to the electronic travel authorization (eTA) and employer compliance have been added. In addition, the term “implied status” was replaced with “maintained status”.

e.g., temporary resident permit (TRP) [A24(1)]
A temporary resident permit (TRP) is a discretionary document that may be issued to a client to overcome an inadmissibility or non-compliance with the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act (IRPA), allowing them to enter or remain in Canada as a temporary resident, where justified by exceptional circumstances.
