Around the globe there are more than a billion people with disabilities and only 1 in 10 has access to assistive products and devices. People who design technology want to make it accessible, but are many a times unaware about what makes technology accessible. Global Accessibility Awareness Day (GAAD) is a global event and was designed to get everyone talking, thinking and learning about access and inclusion for people with different disabilities. Technology developers can learn about the need to make their website and apps accessible, and can find out how elements of their design interact with assistive technologies.
